In order to defend consumers’ purchasing power, listen to their expectations and offer them a wider choice in terms of products, quality and price, the Mousquetaires were amongst the first distributors to create own brands. In order to reinforce their proximity to consumers, since then the Mousquetaires have put their signature on their products and offered clear, simple and educational nutritional labelling.
Own brands: an essential lever for combating high prices
For the Mousquetaires, own brands are nothing new. Since 1969 the Mousquetaires have made their choice: to develop their own production units so as to offer consumers brands which represent alternatives to the national brands.
Objectives: to meet consumers’ needs, ensure the safety of the food products sold, offer even more competitive prices and preserve their independence of supply.
Today the Mousquetaires differentiate themselves by innovating and launching unique products to create customer loyalty. And following the example of all the distributor brands, the Mousquetaires’ own brands are overwhelmingly chosen by consumers as a safe bet.
Nowadays the Mousquetaires are amongst the leaders in the own brands market in France . In total they represent nearly 50% of the products sold in terms of volume: 1 product in 2 sold in their stores is a classic or economy own brand.
In October 2006, the Mousquetaires launched a new signature shared by their own brands: the “Sélection des Mousquetaires”.
