Environmental protection
Commitments

Where bags at the checkout or packaging are concerned, since 2006 the Mousquetaires have no longer distributed disposable bags and instead have replaced them with ecological bags which are reusable and can be exchanged for life. They are also working on reducing the quantity of product packaging distributed by the stores in the Group.
Every year close to 100,000 tonnes of cardboard boxes are collected in stores and re-sold to paper manufacturers and recycled. Nearly 700 tonnes of batteries are also collected and recycled.
The Ecolo Pass, environmental labelling focused on sorting waste
In April 2008 Intermarché launched the Ecolo Pass, a system of labelling which focuses on sorting packaging and its suitability for recycling. Intermarché gives its customers the opportunity of getting involved in helping the environment and acting every day to protect nature.
